Spoils from the Sunken Chamber.


These are some of the other treasures from my trip! My mother-in-law and I went exploring through her basement and put together a little collection of "finds".

Remember that rush you felt as a child while rummaging through a semi-forbidden drawer, full of trinkets and other palpable delicacies...?
It was like that!

Maybe in your case it was a drawer —or box, or tin can— your grandma or aunt had. It smelled just so, and maybe you were not completely barred from going through it... but it was always a solemn occasion, and you knew it.

To pair buttons by color or shape, or sheen, or how many perforations they have...
To see how many new items have been added —or depleted— since the last time you checked...
Such joy!

As an adult (and avid collector of baubles & trims) I now get to enjoy my own stash, at will. Some things are delightful just by being...
