Do you enjoy receiving presents as much as giving them?
I confess, it takes me eons to find what's right for someone, but when I do, so much thought has gone into it that I can hardly wait for the gift-giving day to arrive. Then comes the fun gift-wrapping part, which I consider an exercise in free-style —refreshing.
Also, how cathartic is it to see someone tear through a pretty thing?
I particularly enjoy finding gifts for the husband-fish! August is his birthday month, and we always make an advent affair of it —this year he has received a gift every week!
He got a bird whistle, handmade in France: robins be prepared!
Incidentally, the other present is an old fashioned sling shot, as unique as the buckthorn branch it's made from.
No, these two presents are not to be used at the same time —what a horrible thing to say! :) They're just perfect end of Summer toys that I happened to find at the same time.
Now that we gave up city life for the open fields and forests, we must find new ways to spend our time: get the right toys, and you'll want to be nowhere but in the woods!

I really love gift giving. I get such pleasure seeing someone open their and get excited about it. The sling shot is a pretty cool gift idea hopefully he doesn't hurt someone or something with it.

Ha! No, we'll make sure to shoot only small things, deep in the forest ;)
DeleteHappy Birthday to your husband! I love your advent approach to celebrating & gift giving. I often enjoy finding "just the thing" gifts, wrapping them & giving them more than being on the receiving end. I'm already storing away for the holidays, but feeling eager to give the gifts now! Enjoy your forest adventures...
